Hands Free Microphone kit

Drive safer and keep the boys in blue happy by keeping both hands on your steering wheel whilst driving.
This is a home made hands free microphone unit, I have used mine now for well over six months, and have found this little device invaluable.
The unit comprises of the following:-

Small black plastic box (60mmx35mmx18mm), can be mounted on dash or gear lever.

Latching Toggle switch for PTT.

Bright Red LED to indicate Activated PTT.

PTT controlled by optical device.

Unit uses DC supply from radio microphone connecter.

Circuit uses blocking capacitor to isolate DC getting into radio microphone circuit.

Electret microphone has small crocodile clip to enable attachment to sun visor.

Microphone is enclosed in shrink wrap for stability and to electrically isolate from car body.

Microphone is supplied with aprox 2 mtrs of lead.

The following radios use either 8 pin or 6 pin modular plugs with a 5 or 8 volt DC supply.
